Role

To work on the development of a network for young aspiring entrepreneurs from a disadvantaged background. This is to be achieved by building an inclusive platform for young people aged 18 to 30 living in Swansea, which will allow them to connect and support each other.

 

Objectives of the post

 

•    Provide leadership in and be responsible for the management of the  Youth Entrepreneurship Network Project

•    Engage with 100 young aspiring entrepreneurs 

•    Gather and analyse information 

•    Produce guidance materials and resources

•    Co-ordinate a timetable of events, session times to vary according to the needs of the young people and the organisation

•    Lead and assist in training programmes via discussions, and other project activities 

•    Assist and collaborate with an App/Website Developer on building a project Mobile App. 

•    Organise and encourage active participation by young people within The Centre for African Entrepreneurship both at the office and in the wider community

•    Liaise with appropriate agencies, developing a network of suitable contacts and making suitable links between young people and appropriate business and entrepreneurship support.

•    Create appropriate tools for monitoring and evaluation of the Youth Project and ensure activities are monitored and evaluated accordingly

•    Maintain records and training information as requested by CEO

•    Provide regular updates and reports as necessary

Admin Assistant

Status: Part-time at 12 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with experience of data entry, finance and office administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to- day general administration, assisting the CEO and supporting the staff team. Act as the main point of contact for service-users, visitors and callers, including reception duties. 

 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

¬    Provide general administrative support to the CEO and staff team. 

¬    Provide support for the project including assisting with administration of project work where appropriate and when agreed. 

¬    Undertake general administrative duties including: 

¬    general word processing 

¬    filing, copying and faxing, 

¬    collation and distribution of minutes, reports and other documents, 

¬    dealing with incoming and outgoing mail and general emails, ordering of equipment, materials and office supplies. 

¬    Minute taking for Board, team meetings and other meetings as required.

¬    Support volunteers in a variety of roles across the organisation. 

¬    liaise with external organisations to promote CAE’s volunteering opportunities via a wide range of communication methods.

Café Manager

Café Manager responsibilities include: 

  • Managing day-to-day operations of the Café 

  • Hiring and onboarding new wait staff and baristas 

  • Training employees and volunteers on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment 

Job brief 

We are looking for a Café Manager to organize daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service. 

Café Manager responsibilities include scheduling shifts for baristas and wait staff, monitoring daily expenses and revenues and ordering supplies like coffee, milk and snacks, as needed. To be successful in this role you should have work experience with various roles in coffee shops. Also, you should be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays. 

Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and turn our Café into a favourite local spot. 

 

Responsibilities 

- Manage day-to-day operations of the Café 

- Hire and onboard new wait staff and baristas 

- Train employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment 

- Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (like takeaway cups, coffee, milk and other ingredients) 

- Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses 

- Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences (for example vegan coffee drinks) 

- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service 

- Ensure all Café areas are clean and tidy 

- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation 

Requirements 

- Work experience as a Café Manager or Barista 

- Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines 

- Good math skills 

- Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays) 

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team 

- Customer service attitude 

- High school diploma 

- Additional certification (e.g. in Business Administration or Hospitality) is a plus
