celebrating
a decade of empowerment

In 2025, The CAE proudly celebrates ten years of transforming lives, building communities, and redefining opportunity in Wales and beyond.

From our humble beginnings to a thriving network supporting thousands each year, this milestone is more than an anniversary — it’s a reflection of The Welsh Dream in action: a vision of belonging, equality, and empowerment for all.

This page brings together the highlights, voices, and stories from across our streams of work — capturing the heart of what The CAE stands for.

Employability, Enterprise & Education

Unlocking potential through skills, confidence, and opportunity.
For a decade, The CAE has supported thousands to gain the skills, experience, and belief to shape their own futures — whether through employment, training, or entrepreneurship.

Headline Outcomes:

  • Over 2,600 people supported;

  • 1,000+ progressed into work or education;

  • 350+ entrepreneurs supported:

  • 500+ qualifications achieved;

  • 85+ trained in green and digital sectors.

Our Legacy: Raised aspirations, removed systemic barriers, and created pathways into Wales’ economy

Tackling Poverty
& Hardship

Meeting basic needs. Restoring dignity. Building stability.

We believe that empowerment begins with security. Through our foodbank and hardship initiatives, we provide vital, dignity-focused support to individuals and families facing financial crisis — ensuring no one is left behind.

Headline Impact:

  • Launched Swansea’s first mobile foodbank in 2020.

  • 2,500 households supported with food parcels.

  • Over 25,000 meals distributed each year.

  • 50,000kg of food redistributed, 256tonnes of COâ‚‚ saved.

  • 45 volunteers involved in foodbank operations.

  • 1,065 products distribute to tackle period poverty.

Our Legacy: Families regained dignity and stability during critical times. Healthier food options improved both diet and emotional wellbeing, while reduced financial stress gave people the breathing space to rebuild their lives.

CLIMATE JUSTICE & SUSTAINABILITY

Equity at the heart of sustainability. Voices at the centre of change.

In 2020, The CAE became the first migrant-led organisation in Wales to formally recognise the climate crisis and place marginalised communities at the centre of climate action. We connect people to environmental solutions through education, advocacy, and practical change.

Headline Impact:

  • 540+ participants engaged in community climate projects.

  • 70+ volunteers took up environmental roles.

  • 25 volunteers trained in climate science and advocacy.

  • 5 Climate Action Forums reaching over 300 people.

  • 120 young people involved through the Green Schools Competition.

  • 62 cyclists joined weekly active-travel sessions; 25+ accessed our bike loan scheme.

  • Twinning Project (Cae Tan): linked 175 beneficiaries to rural farming communities.

  • 256 tonnes of COâ‚‚ saved through sustainable food redistribution.

Our Legacy: building knowledge, promoting greener living, and ensuring every community has a voice in shaping a just, sustainable future.

HOLISTIC & WELLBEING SUPPORT

Empowering lives through connection, care, and community.

The CAE takes a whole-person approach to wellbeing — supporting mental, emotional, and physical health alongside housing, digital access, and community belonging.

Headline Impact:

  • 1,500+ people improved their wellbeing.

  • Football (90 members) and Salsa (329 participants) fostered fitness, joy, and connection.

  • 70 families supported with housing and homelessness prevention.

  • 162 people received SIMs/laptops for digital inclusion.
