Digital Inclusion At The CAE
In our age of digital advancement, understanding how to navigate an online world has never been more important. Through our digital hub initiative, we provide people with the opportunity to overcome any barriers that might exclude them from this advancement. By reducing barriers to access and increasing advice sessions, we are working to help improve people’s digital confidence so that they can excel both in the workplace and in life.
Our Digital Hub
Supported by Swansea Council, we help to support migrant and economically disadvantaged communities overcome digital exclusion by providing access, assistance and confidence in a safe and welcoming environment.

People can access up to 15 digital devices and safe spaces, connectivity, practical digital skills support and guidance on staying safe online. From our Hub, we run regular small-group support sessions on Fridays 11am-2pm. These sessions run on a variety of topics from using Excel, to safe social media practice and university admission processes. We also provide friendly, one-to-one support, helping people build the skills and confidence they need to access essential services, education, employment and volunteering opportunities.

According to our service users:
"This programme doesn't just teach skills; it builds self-belief, creativity, and practical pathways to employment."
"The organisation's commitment to digital inclusion is genuine, and their learner-first approach creates real, measurable change."
"I used to think I wasn't a 'tech person' and not a designer. But this programme showed me that digital skills are just tools for telling your own story."
What support do we offer?

1
1 to 1 support
From our hub in Swansea, we offer tailored one-to-one IT and Tech advice. From supporting our service users with online applications, to organising spreadsheets and even developing social media presences, we help to empower our service users with as much personalised aid as possible.

Group Support
Held every Friday from 11am-1pm in our Hub on Oxford Street, our group digital literacy sessions cover a variety of topics from drafting professional emails and creating PowerPoints, to learning how to use the internet to develop English language skills. Here at The CAE, we feel everyone should have access to the tools they need to succeed. To help reduce barriers to accessing technology, we have a variety of digital devices (laptops, tablets, sim cards) available to loan for our service users.
