Our impact is fundamentally measured by real people. Real stories. Real support. Real successes. Across all of our projects and services, in 2025 The CAE supported over 3,550 real individuals, empowering each and every one with the tools they needed for personal development.

Annual Operations Report 2023/2024 – Summary

Over the past year, The CAE has made significant strides in empowering asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants across Wales. With over 1,200 services delivered and 500 new referrals, we have expanded our reach and deepened our impact, helping individuals overcome barriers to employment, wellbeing, and social inclusion.

Since 2017, The CAE has supported individuals from ethnically diverse and migrant communities to become registered childminders. Through training, business support and partnership working, the programme has helped establish 14 new childminding businesses, supported over 90 families to access culturally appropriate childcare, and benefited more than 120 children during their critical early years.

Food Bank Delivery

Tackling Poverty – Foodbank & Hardship Support

Providing essential food and financial relief to those most affected by the cost-of-living crisis.

1,644 food parcels delivered, serving 150 individuals each month.

15 volunteers supported food distribution and community engagement.

25 families received discretionary hardship grants to cover essential costs.

P2P Project

Advocacy & Influencing – Ending Workplace Exploitation

Protecting migrant workers’ rights and influencing policy change.

77 individuals reported increased confidence in navigating workplace challenges.

65 participants felt empowered to stand up for their rights due to greater awareness.

84 people experienced an increased sense of community and belonging.

12 advisory panel members ensured representation and lived experience guidance.

50 employers and 500 employees participated in EDI training and workforce awareness.

Climate Justice & Sustainability

Ensuring that migrants and underrepresented groups are included in climate action.

  • 100+ participants engaged in climate advocacy and action.

  • 12 volunteers trained in climate science and campaign development.

  • Weekly cycling lessons and group rides supported sustainable transport and fitness.

  • 10 bikes loaned, supporting 15 individuals to overcome transport barriers.

  • 49 direct beneficiaries and 126 indirect beneficiaries participated in the Twinning Project, fostering connections between urban and rural communities.

The CAE - Bicycles

Carmarthenshire Expansion

This year marked a major milestone as The CAE expanded its presence in Llanelli, providing employment support, digital inclusion programmes, and housing assistance.

25 events and participatory programmes reached 161 individuals.

189 people, including 16 newly granted refugees, received support in securing jobs.

36 participants received digital literacy training and equipment.

9 volunteers contributed to skills development and leadership training.

4 families facing eviction secured stable housing with CAE support.
