ENDING WORKPLACE
EXPLOITATION
About THE PROJECT
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued at work. The Ending Workplace Exploitation Project empowers refugees and migrants with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to recognise workplace exploitation, understand their rights, and thrive in employment, particularly in Wales.
Why this matters
Workplace exploitation can affect anyone, but refugees and migrants may face additional barriers, including language differences, limited knowledge of employment rights, and concerns about reporting problems. This can leave people vulnerable to unfair treatment, discrimination, underpayment, and unsafe working conditions.
By raising awareness of employment rights and connecting people to support, we help workers feel more informed and confident. We also work with employers to promote fair recruitment practices, inclusive workplaces, and positive experiences for everyone.

What we do
The Ending Workplace Exploitation Project works with refugees, migrants, employers, and community partners to create safer and fairer workplaces.
Our activities include:
-
Monthly advisory panel meetings
-
Review of Employment Right Guide
-
Developing the Migrant Positive Pledge for employers.
-
One-to-one guidance and signposting to specialist support
-
Community outreach and engagement activities
-
Employer roundtables and networking events
-
Sharing best practice on inclusive recruitment and progression

OUR IMPACT
Through this project, we are helping individuals gain the knowledge and confidence to navigate the workplace, understand their rights, and access support when needed. We are also bringing together employers, community organisations, and people with lived experience to identify solutions that reduce barriers and improve workplace inclusion.
By fostering dialogue and collaboration, we are helping to build workplaces where everyone can feel safe, respected, and able to thrive.
